BMW 2002
In 1993 Windrush developed a set of body moulds for the BMW 2002. The front guards are bolt on like the originals but have an M3 style flare of approx 50mm. The rear guards too are flared approx 50mm and have the wheel opening slightly higher so the car can be run lower without looking 'droopy' in the rear. The rear guards are bonded in place and the outer edge of the wheel tub cut away and replaced so the rear track can be increased without rubbing the inner guard. A front clip was also made in composite along with the bonnet and boot lids.Bonnetweight is approx 6 kg and is made in foam sandwich while the boot lid made the same way comes in at just 3.5kg. Replacing these 2 panels alone saves almost 40kg from the car.
